Kolams : A Painted Prayer
GalleryTime limitless, space boundless, thought infinite…in the moving yet repetitious human experience, both mental and physical appear as a set pattern. In these “Painted Prayers” I have chosen to focus on this aspect of energy as harmonized, balanced, systematized and contemplative. I have based these works on the long, continuous, interwoven geometric line patterns of the indigenous art of India called Kolam or Rangoli.
